GDPR & Email Privacy

When you sign up for our newsletter, join a course waiting list, or create an account, we collect your email address. We use it to send you:

• New course announcements and early-bird offers
• Updates about upcoming field days and mentoring openings
• News, inspiration and practical tips from Makers Art School
• Booking confirmations and important information about sessions you have booked

We only send marketing emails if you have actively opted in — for example by ticking a newsletter box or joining a waiting list. Booking-related emails (confirmations, reminders) are sent as part of our service to you and are not marketing.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. There is no penalty for unsubscribing, and it will not affect any bookings or account access.

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it once and you will be removed from that mailing list immediately — no further steps required.

You can also email us directly at lisa@makersartschool.com and we will remove your address within 48 hours.

We use Klaviyo to manage our mailing lists and send newsletters. Klaviyo acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

We do not sell, rent or share your email address with any other third parties for marketing purposes.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Object to or restrict how we use your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact lisa@makersartschool.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We keep your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed, or as long as necessary to fulfil any bookings you have made. If you unsubscribe, your address is removed from our active mailing list. We may retain a suppression record to ensure you are not accidentally re-added.

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
