Studio practice can feel stuck. You want to loosen up, work from life, and rediscover the joy of mark-making — but you need the right setting, the right materials, and time away from the everyday to actually do it.

A full day making art by the river with Lisa. Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists alike, with only 4 places so you get real one-to-one time and leave with work you love.

The full picture.

We begin by meeting in Lisa's studio, where she introduces how she prepares for a Field Day. Then we head out to a private stretch of river to spend the day drawing, mark-making and abstracting the landscape. Each student is given a beautiful sketchbook and all materials are provided. Plenty of hot drinks and snacks throughout — bring your own lunch.

Lisa Henshall

A painter, printmaker, and digital installation artist, Lisa studied Fine Art at Loughborough University before studying Art Education at Cambridge. Cornish by birth and rooted in rural East Anglia, she has been teaching art at all levels since 1998.

Her practice weaves together the analogue and the digital, the intuitive and the rigorous — bringing warmth, depth and creative provocation to everything she teaches. Lisa shows regularly internationally; New York, Austin, Boston, Dublin, Amsterdam, Brussels and London.
